Telephone users are receiving more and more unwanted calls including spam and scam calls because of the transfer-without-verification nature of global telephone networks, which allows anyone to call any other numbers. Ignoring or blocking all incoming calls from unknown numbers results in the missing of legitimate calls from new callers. How to block all unwanted calls but allow legitimate unknown incoming calls is the problem we are addressing in this project.

To use a mobile service, the subscribers have to "share" their location information with the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). In 5G and Beyond mobile networks, the users' location can be obtained by the MNOs at sub-meter accuracy. The capability of a MNO to track and profile their users is a serious privacy concern to many. How to protect users' location privacy from MNOs but keep the utility of the networks is the problem we are addressing in this project.

Wireless communications have become inseparable in our daily life. This direction looks at the existing security, privacy, and reliability issues in wireless and mobile communication infrastructure and attempt to provide novel security solutions with reasonable overhead and backward compatibility.
